Meet the Horses
We, at Skyline Guest Ranch, take much pride in our stock's breeding, raising, and training. Our horses are fundamental to our business success and the happiness of our clients. Each summer our guides eagerly begin work on our new group of colts. Training your own horses leads to well-behaved, and cooperative animals that can safely navigate our mountainous terrain with even the most novice of riders.

Sparky
Sparky is a gentle, kind, hardworking horse. He has a great attitude and loves to work. Our favorite thing about Sparky is his love

Sage
Sage has a heart of gold and was born broke! She never bucked a day in her life! For over two decades sage has been the worlds best kids horse. She is gentle, kind, and always willing to help someone have a positive first experience on horseback!

Chance
Chance is such a sweet and energetic horse. He is always game to lope or gallop through a mountain meadow! Though he is getting older, he still has so much drive and spunk.

Boe
Boe is born and raised at Skyline. Has genetics go back to the original horses of the first Skyline herd. Though it took Boe longer than normal to decide to quit bucking, he is worth his weight in gold.

Sioux
Kameesha named Sioux after the famous Johnny Cash song 'A Boy Name Sue.' Some may say this gave him a complex. Despite his unfortunate name, he is a phenomenal horse; surefooted and spunky.

Chime
Chime quicky became a favorite among visitors at the ranch. She is unbelievably strong and resilient. Chime was born on the mountain and it's apparent that she loves her job as a mountain horse!

Chico
Chico has a never-stop attitude. He is sweet, kind, and always willing to work hard. He is named after Chico Hot Springs, located 40 miles from Yellowstone National Park.

Pete
Pete is a golden hose in both color and nature. Even though it took him a while to realize the world isn't so scary, he now can carry any rider with confidence.

Jimmy
Jimmy is a true mountain horse who knows these mountains better than anyone or anything. No matter the circumstances, rain or shine, he will bring your home safely. Money can't buy a better horse!

Crackerjack
Crackerjack is a gentle giant. Despite his big size, his demeanor is kind and sweet. He loves everyone he meets and is loving to humans and animals.

Delilah
Delilah is a fiery mare with some get up and go! Though she doesn't like trail rides she is always excited to venture into Yellowstone National Park! The image above shows her and Luke taking in the view from the top of Specimen Ridge.

Dolly the Mule
Dolly is a mule with no shortage of spunk and character, as evident in the picture above! Lukus has taken on the responsibility of braking her as a reliable riding mule. Despite his best intentions, Dolly bucks every spring!

Cheyenne the Mule
Cheyenne is the oldest animal at Skyline Guest Ranch. Though she is 34 years old she still has a fire and passion for hard work. We love our sweet old girl, and affectionately refer to her as grandma!

The Boys
Big, Rich, John, and Henry are always together (quite literally tied in a line) so it's fitting to feature them together. As an outfitting businessit is paramount that you have a good string of mules, and they are just that. Though tougher than nails, all four are big sweet babies!

J-Lo the Mule
J-Lo is our 'rock climbing' mule from Tennessee. She won't miss a step and will go anywhere she is asked. She rides and packs with effortless precision and grace.
