AUGUST 7TH

INTO THE BACKCOUNTRY

Wake to a hearty ranch breakfast before trailering horses into Yellowstone National Park for a two night backcountry pack trip into the stunning Pebble Creek Valley. Meet your horse, watch the pack mules being loaded, and begin the ride up the famous Stairway to Heaven, climbing into wide open meadows and breathtaking mountain terrain. Ride through the valley to camp, where the crew will help get everything set up among wildflowers and towering peaks. As evening settles in, enjoy a campfire dinner and share stories under a sky full of stars.

AUGUST 9TH

BACK TO THE RANCH

Wake to the comforting sound of sizzling bacon and the smell of fresh cowboy coffee drifting across camp. Enjoy a final ride and time along the river for fishing or reflection, followed by a relaxed lunch before packing up and riding back toward civilization. Once back at Skyline Guest Ranch, a hot shower, farewell dinner, and cozy accommodations await. Fall asleep in a real bed, resting easy after days well spent in the wild.

AUGUST 6TH

WELCOME TO MONTANA

Your journey begins with pickup from the Billings, Montana, airport or hotel (12:00 pm-2:00 pm), followed by a scenic drive along the iconic Beartooth Highway, widely known as the number one scenic highway in America. Wind your way through alpine lakes, towering peaks, and sweeping vistas as you make your way to Skyline Guest Ranch. After checking in and getting settled, take time to relax and soak in your surroundings before gathering for a warm welcome dinner at the ranch. The evening sets the tone for the adventure ahead, filled with good food, mountain air, and anticipation.

AUGUST 8TH

ADVENTURE & EXPLORE

Spend the day fully immersed in the beauty of the Pebble Creek Valley with options to hike, fly fish, or simply relax in camp and take in the stillness of the wilderness. For those seeking a challenge, opt for a more technical horseback ride up to Bliss Pass, overlooking three valleys and a historic Native American lookout. However you choose to spend the day, the pace is unhurried and the scenery unforgettable. Return to camp for a delicious dinner and dessert, then settle in for another peaceful night under the stars.

AUGUST 10TH

DEPARTURE

Enjoy a final breakfast at the ranch before checking out and saying your goodbyes. A shuttle will return you to Billings, Montana, traveling once more through the breathtaking landscapes of southern Montana. You will leave with lasting memories, new friendships, and a deep appreciation for time spent in Yellowstone’s backcountry.

We do not have a set weight limit for riding horses, but you do have to be able to mount your horse unassisted from level ground without the use of a mounting block.
